Leveling up the dashboard experience
The Diversio dashboard was originally designed in 2018 with the purpose of finding a product-market fit. By 2020, the dashboard had an official launch by mid-summer, leading to what we have now the re-vamp of the dashboard - Workforce & Analytics.I worked with 3 full-stack engineers and a PO to improve the visual design and user experience. Throughout the version 2 update, I did a complete audit, built a design system, and improved our core experience.
Auditing the old dashboard
With the first version of the Workforce dashboard, the visual design was inconsistent with colours, accessibility, and failed to communicate the task at hand. Within 2 months, I met with the PO, PM, and engineers to assess what frameworks and design system were in use.
After all of the components were compiled, we then went back to the drawing board to understand our user's task/goals at hand and what core functionality we want to streamline in the updated dashboard.

Data visualization of employee feedback
The bread and butter of the tool includes data collected from employee sentiment. Being that our 90% of our clients are executives, their primary goal is to review data, stats, and high level information to make impactful decisions. We try to pay attention to how people read the data visualization and to convey an intuitive interaction with every feature.

Portfolio assessment for investor evaluation
Diversio has another feature that allows investors to track D&I public perception of their company investments. Our goal is to help investors and external asset managers to manage risks by avoiding harassment scandals and potential liabilities - while leveraging our D&I system as an industry standard. Since this is a tool first in its kind, we're taking the time to evaluate client pain points and investment strategies to ensure our product is truly valuable.

Design system
We created a design system to establish consistency and accelerate the design and development process for other teams working on the dashboard. It inherits from our core design system, which defines basic styles, like typography, spacing, and colour. Created in Figma, the design system is in the early stages but has been efficient and accessible for the iterative process for projects.
As we continue to create more features for the dashboard and our team grows, our next project for the design system consists of collecting user feedback from our quantitative tools.
The journey building tools to improve inclusion continues
Since I started my role at Diversio, our company has been featured in Fast Company as an AI and Data finalist, Bessemer Venture Partners State of the Cloud report, and other global platforms that confirm the work we're doing is impactful and making a great improvement for companies to become inclusive. We still have a long journey ahead, but the path to uncovering better solutions is the best part of my role at Diversio.
